The 95th Anniversary Meeting of the Central States Anthropological Society will be held at the Embassy Suites Kansas City-Plaza, in Kansas City, Missouri, April 21 through April 23, 2016. Faculty, students, independent scholars, and practitioners will present papers and posters and participate in workshops, and roundtables in all fields of anthropology, including applied. The annual CSAS conference offers anthropologists from throughout the Midwest, from institutions large and small, an opportunity to meet, talk, and network in a welcoming and professional environment.
Dr. Miguel Diaz-Barriga and Dr. Margaret Dorsey will jointly give this year’s Distinguished Lecture, entitled: Refracting Class, Color and Citizenship in a World of Walls. More information can be found on the Distinguished Lecture page.
The Distinguished Lecture and an evening reception (free for registered conference participants) will take place at the renowned Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, within a mile of the hotel. Conference participants will be able to tour the museum for free.
Registration rates: Online registration is closed. On-site registration rates will be: CSAS regular member: $90; CSAS student member: $40; non-member: $110; student non-member: $50. Note: if you’re already an AAA member, you can join CSAS for $20 and then pay the member registration rate; so for the price of registration, you also join CSAS!
